Thought I’d picked another route but been there before almost exactly one year ago: black forest gravel roads from sandy to hardly rideable, temps above 25°, sunshine, yeah!
(No water in the well)
We're into Autumn proper now -- three days of incessant rain followed by a nice clear day, but strong gusty winds. That said, it was very good to be out on the bike for an hour.
At last, we have had a day that felt like spring. After seeing the ride photos from continental Europe while seeing the grey, wet and windy weather here, I was starting to wonder if spring itself was being held up by some bizarre new post-Brexit bureaucracy! Anyway, it must finally have completed its paperwork satisfactorily because, today, the grey and the wet were gone—so I got on the Stinson and got riding... Through fields of gold that were so bright they almost appeared fluorescent at times.
