Today's Ride

My take on a gravel bike, a Giant Escape that I paid £150 for with drop levers and top mounted cyclo cross type levers and front suspension forks with lockout....works for me :) although on this ride I had the wrong tyres, I generally use 700x38C square section
For me advantages over a trendy new gravel bike, I use 3x7 transmission which is great and really cheap to replace (like £25 for chain and cassette) Has proper fixing points for carriers and mudguards so at least I have the option, I have lockout front suspension which for me is a must, lock out on the road, suspension off road and best of all it cost a total of about £300 :)

Another New Forest training ride. Extended the loop to the north of the A31 to add some nice climbs and descents. 34km and some welcome sunshine.

Organic bush clearance team in full effect yesterday evening at Carn Galver. After a very windy morning, it died down enough for a long needed road ride. A solid 30 miles featuring a dash of sunshine. No leggings needed although it was getting a bit parky by the end 🤣
