Im currently working out how my Ballistic/Ritchey frame is going to end up, I have plans to have it powder coated soon, but in the mean time the problem bugging me is XT or XTR kit?

I have the majority of XTR parts needed to hand, but even though I always wanted a 'full xtr' bike BITD, I cant help but feel that its possibly overkill for this frame?...
Should I switch the V's, mechs and shifters all to NOS XT (M739) , or stick with my XTR (M950) set up?
:? :?:

thats what I was thinking...but just had an element of doubt creep in, like the bike would feel more suited to XT being that its not a 'high end' boutique frame.

maybe im just nuts

Sorry to piss on your chips but id stick with xt for this frame.

Save the xtr for the dream frame youre going to buy...

i think i agree...save the xtr for something special, but the XTR v's are my precioussss!

Tell you what, send me the xtr 950 to go on one of my P7s, and Ill send you a lucky dip groupset :p

Seriously tho, I know what you mean,

I have a lovely pair of xtr m960 v brakes, they actually put me off hope discs BITD...

If you've got it put it on.....and enjoy it!

I've got a mix of 950 and 960 on my 1991 Marin and if can sort out the chainring combination I'll put a 900 crank on her.

if you plan to build up something nicer in the near future, then save it for that project. if not then throw it on this bike and enjoy!
