I bought the frame below for general run-about duties but would also take it for local blasts with either a trailer or kids seat attached. I have a few too many suspension forks kicking about so was thinking if I had one with a steerer tube long enough (how long is the steerer on this frame :? ) would it be worth chucking a set on?
My rationale is that I'd be pulling more weight so the comfort and buzz-killing properties of suspension at the front would be beneficial.
I'd be choosing between some RST XMO forks in blue, or some Judys (SL or XC - it would be plain silly to stick some FSX on there, though they woudl actually look darn good I think).
What do you people think - stick with the original rigid/quill stem set up, or go ahead and suspended?
Oh, and if anyone has an opinion on whether to run M739 STI, seperate M739 v-levers with either M740 shifters, or XT thumbies, do share. I have not run thumbies in years but have a desire to do so - will they work well on an 8 speed casssette (wheels will be M737).
Cheers all.
