I'm amazed that these frames have lasted this long. I remember being interested in buying one as I knew someone involved back with the team BITD, and they were selling off frames at the end of the season. I think they wanted around 200 quid, which for a Roberts was a bargain. I was told that with my riding style I probably shouldn't buy one as they were only designed to last a few races (very lightweight). I ended up buying a Specialized M2 Team Edition, which I destroyed in a couple of months so I think I got sound advice :D

No idea how long Big Lev's had this but since he lives ona tidy island not a lot bigger than central park in the USA its safe to say it's spent its retirement in a tranquil backwater ...... will be watching this now were down to the last 12 hours

Lots of threads around of late with what seems to me to be asking is retrobiking on the Decline.......

Well based purely on this as an example........its looking that way.

Re:

Would love to know the the reserve is...

I think your bang on regarding the state of things regarding our love for retro unfortunately.

The guys trying to sell tatty cindercones for £300 are well gone.

Had a blip on this and ended up as the winning bidder, when I fully expected it to be shooting up in the final moments

Congratulations on becoming the new owner of this fine package.

The market sets value, that can't be denied.

Re:

Got to feel a little sorry for the seller who's probably taking quite a hit on this when it does sell. Nobody like a distress sale.

Indeed Sir

The market pays what the market wants to pay - sometimes you get a good price, sometimes you dont.

Nothing to do with retro or the RB site, if nobody wants to fork out a load of money for a bike that only a certain amount of people may remember perhaps, rather than bemoaning the fact, get out there and educate people. How about some write ups in the cycling press? Badger MBR to bring back RB bike of the month, educate the new with old and show everyone where it all came from. Keep at it or you'll lose the momentum that the site initially started.
