when mass produced Carbon/Alloy forks from budget far east supplier are wellover hundred quid, Pace/DT £200, then surely handbuilt Ti forks to your spec are gonna be £3 to 400 at least??

Would be great, but need a special bike for them

Would be interested if they were around the 200 quid mark and 1in steerer
Would also depend on the axle to crown height.

Wow, I'm surprised this thread is still kicking around.

I really started this to ascertain how much interest is really present, not only in the vintage community, but for modern applications as well.

As Scant stated, Ti forks are for a specialized market share...their design requirements are much different than steel or Al counterparts, Ti is significantly more expensive in both material cost and consumables, and unfortunately, the market is flooded with poorly engineered titanium components that make fair pricing difficult to accept for the majority of consumers.

So, all the cards on the table, what would a nice unicrown bladed fork cost in custom atc / offset / steerer? I did play with the project a bit and built a uni fork, one inch blades, with hooded dropouts and threadless steerer that is currently being beaten on, now in it's second season. Retail cost for the fork would hover around 425.00 - 450.00 US to make it a viable project with future support (warranty).

any pics of that fork? one inch blade, hooded dropouts & the price all sound good to me. straight fork blade, rake at the crown?

425 - 450 us sound about right pity our £ is so screwed at the moment.

I'd still be interested.. It'd just take me a bit longer to save

Would also like to see pics of the prototype.

So similar to an Accutrax or P2 in appearance?

Price seems reasonable. Could you make them with a bigger leg, say 1 1/4" as 1" would be too skinny for most fat-tubed ti frames IMO..

Never mind the appearance, 1in'd be too skinny to ride with, assuming you actually wanted the wheel to be pointing roughly the same direction as the stem ;-) There're reasons beyond cost why these things never really took off BITD...
