thought i'd give a cancer operation update

Is it our age? Love and recovery to all xxxx

Two months post heart surgery. I bruise like a peach, bleed like royalty and have lost over a stone. Much to be grateful for. Luckily my cancer a few years back was operable. A hiccup. But I spent many an hour waiting in oncology supporting my wife’s chemo sessions. Watching the young and old, in various states of optimism, resignation, humility and trepidation, pass through.

I will never complain about my ‘lot’ again.

As I said, love and recovery to all xxxxx ❤️

Pretty much. Historically, an incredibly high percentage of us wouldn't have made it out of childhood - and it's also a high percentage who will be struggling with some form of life limiting condition by the time we are 63, sometimes more than one. If you are in good health in your 50s, you are genuinely in your golden years so make the most of them.

I've never been able to take good health for granted due to having Crohn's since I was a young 'un. Post surgery around 5 years ago, I've been doing better than ever though. My 50s have turned out to be a renaissance - but I know it won't last so am focussed on having fun and staying as fit as I can.

Don't let the old man in.

@gibbleking jesus, that sucks, i always worry that people think i'm being flippant about what i had, i'm not, but i am well aware of how bad it can be, hope you can get back on the bike, and anything else you want to do.

@greencat a few friends h ave crohns as well, that sucks as well, seen some friends get very overwelmed by that.
