Things you'd forgotten till it happens again

Being stateside they love their outdoor sports and this morning I was asked if I wanted to play paintball next weekend.

Back in the 90's when it really took off I was running a site for a farmer..it was a particulary hot day so the cammo's were off and light weight unlined trekkie bottoms were the order of the day, think shell suit..bearing in mind I was running it and one of several marshals, the day was good

so the game whistle goes and kerblamm the usual manic blap blap blap and the calls go out...marshallllllllllllllllll ....paint checkkkkkkkkkkk

So I go over to a customer who thinks they have been hit and is behind a straw bale..I lean over the bale to check the perp and kaaablammm I get hit with two shots

Why is this a reminder? well the first shot hit me in the shoulder but the second got me bent over right in the ring peace and wearing light weight unlined trakkie bottoms meant the seams were stretched to a point that they nearly gave way and coated my pancreas lime green.....I stung for days after

so when I was asked this morning..wanna play paintball buddy? I rembered that mighty momment and ......kindly declined

Forgetting the handbrake at a petrol station forecourt, then realising its on a slight slope as you step out of the car and nearly get run over by your own car. Smooth.
