the unofficial 'cool' 1980's Reynolds 531/501 bike thread

Ummmmmm....many overburys........is there a collective noun?

A " persistance" perhaps or a "straggle"?

Just re-read whole thread (for fun) - and because I have a ‘new’ bike to show!

Surprised to find I was also last poster of a “1980's Reynolds 531/501 bike” (With 3 piece fork)!

Previous was an ‘86 (still in use more than any of my other bikes), this is an ‘85.

The Ranger came without its original wheels so I was happy to add 650Bs to help fill the ‘notorious’ space.

This has the original wheels - Suzue/Rigida - so they will stay, for now at least. Maybe fatter tyres.

Dawes Rangers are fairly rare. Claud Butler Canyons more so.

I’ve only ridden it about three miles. Think it’s going to be good. Gears cables rusted, so limited choice of gears!

Photos show it after a basic wash and rub.

Will put more on a different thread, when it’s working properly.
