Re:

I think I have a pair of those in the garage, X something or others, they were a bit woolly sounding though.

Nasty old Lintons eh?

I couldn't even get 99p for a set on eBay - broke them and sold the drivers for about £30 I think.

The Diamonds appear to have a duff woofer - unless they use Lucar terminals and one's fallen off - haven't checked yet.

Really?

Strange - they were working before I sent them out. No noises or ruffles from the drivers.

I dont think I have a spare driver either.

I took em to my mums without trying them myself. Will take tools with me next time I go and check nothing's fallen off inside. As you say, no roughness to the driver movement, which is the usual sign of a duff driver.

Re:

Having grown fed up with the spuffy sound from the sony mini system in my office I had a rummage in the loft for me dear old mum's old Hifi.
It's a bit dusty but is an immediate improvement. Even my old cloth lugs can appreciate the difference.
What's the best way of removing the dust from the speakers, CD and Amp. (Smells like the amp has burnt most of it off...)
