19 watts per channel...

Make sure whatever speakers you attach it to are VERY sensitive otherwise it might go pop at relevantly sensible volumes.

Oi - someone's nicked the P outta my Pioneer

Will see how it sounds Cheesey ol bean, probably going on spare system in ex's kitchen so things are not going to be pushed very hard. ;)

The Creek 4040 (or maybe its a 3030) will be relocated from kitchen to sitting room. That should keep things ticketty boo and she doesn't really do big volumes :D

Lucky you, my wife blew one of the main drivers in a nice little pair of Royd floor standers I have, using a combination of a Rotel RA-971 amp and some Led Zeppelin.

Not that I'd tell her but she did me a favour, as the replacement drivers sounded significantly better than the original ones.

Where did you get the replacement drivers? I've got a pair of Royd Minstrels that have sat silent for over ten years following a RATM / Yamaha incident. Should've stopped when I heard the first one go really.

I really can't remember where I got them now, but I did the usual internet searches, and then got as close to original drivers as I could.

I thought it was a bit of a shame that the Royd's had not had better drivers fitted in the first place, it would probably pushed up the price a little, but the improvements only served to show how well designed the enclosures are.

Collected it at the weekend and whaddya know - its not a SA 600 at all - its a SA 8500 mk11

Odd twin bass/treble controls which I've never seen before and currently not emitting sound although it does power on. Quick web search suggests maybe a pre/power connection inside has been removed. Will have a look later.................always was a sucker for loadsa knobs

Re: The *NOT BORING!* Hi-Fi faff and sales: Amps amps amps!!!

oooh

60w into 8 Ohms

that will be better

if it works.

as for the pre/power bit - bottom left:

Re:

Hi Mark - I was just gonna load up some more pics there too :D

My amp lacks those connectors between the pre and power sockets - I take it they are necessary then

Will wire in a couple of RCAs and see if that does the trick, yes?

.....or should I just bend a couple of nails?

more pics of much dust under the lid  .................
