Can anyone clarify what size seatpost a 1998 STS 1000 DS takes please? 31.8mm has been suggested to me, but Sheldon is advising a 31.6mm. Only 0.2mm of a difference, but might as well get the right one.

Oh, and also seatpost clamp while you're at it?!

Hi,

31.6 is the right one. Can't remember the size of the clamp at the moment.

'Standard' or 'stock' it has a 48T ring in the front and
12-28T XT rear.

Now it has 34T in the front and a DuraAce 12-27T
9 speed cassette ;)

Then Motofo is the one who has the serious legs here :D

But I guess down the hill it should be fine, right?

I have thought of 11-34T, but then again I would need the
SGS RD-M952 and that means lower chain tension and higher
risk of hitting the rear mech during a ride.. Also, the cassette
is heavier (just as the RD). So this Boone titanium chainring
and the DA cassette seemed the best solution. Maybe a 36T
chainring in the front would be ideal .. tell me if you find
one :D

Nice! Colours work well. What tyres are they?
