I've only just realised there's no gears
Could be hub gears? :D

Although my money is on a fixie, i reckon Jon would look great in skinny jeans

It takes all sorts I suppose

Hub gears are a potentially wise shout though, I don't recall Jon ever using or mentioning a ss...

Re: the beginning of Demon number 2

The huge thread asking about middleburns and Alfine chainline might have given it away!

Re: the beginning of Demon number 2

managed to find a pic of the bike at NAHBS, i know Tom was running late for the show, he had some personal issues that delayed the build so was still assembling the bike on the first day, also the idea was to take it to the show unpainted to show the metal work off, the delays also meant that he didn't have time to fit the internal cabling, this will be done on his return to the UK in a week or so.

this is the only pic i can find though :D

Liking that a huge amount, extremely finished. I'd just just clear coat it.

That's what I said about the first one!!!!!!

Re:

Beautiful! Bordering on complete eye candy :D Looking forward to seeing your final colour choice too, paint, raw or otherwise!

Even with the bigger wheels, the proportions look bang on to me

What size frame is it? ST, TT, reach?

Re:

size wise it's about an 18" frame, Tom has the exact dimensions but i'm an average 5'9" in terms of leg length and reach but we have adjusted the geometry we started with to suit me a little more for the purpose of the bike, also bearing in mind this is the second bike Tom has built for me he already had a guide to go from position wise, as such the bar is slightly lower than on the MTB so it's a little more aggressive at the front end, that said i will be using a low riser bar whereas it's pictured here with a straight bar.

Tom was unsure what category at NAHBS it would fit into so because where it has slick type tyres it didn't fit into "29er mtb" and it was too chunky for any of the road categories so it got entered into "theme", but it was late to the show and not complete. as a result of not being sure on the category it wasn't built completely how i would like but i didn't mind that as it was Toms show bike so while he used all of my parts to build it for the show there were a couple of differences, for example the handlebar, i bought a flat bar by mistake (bad listing!) so then bought a riser bar aswel, Tom wanted to use the flat bar and cut it down which i felt was a little "fixie rider" but i'll be using the riser bar, also i will be running a WTB saddle but Tom much prefers the look of Brooks saddles so he always has one around for show bikes. personal choices, but i think it will look quite different when paint or whatever is done and it has my more MTB type finishing kit.

either way i am really happy so far.

:D
