Its funny that they took away Armstrongs placings but not Eddy Merckx's, Jacques Anquetil Fasto Coppi yet all admitted to doping as well. IMO anyone caught doping should have all their placings null and void and a lifetime ban but it seems its one rule for some and one for others. I think the reason they went so hard on Armstrong was because he was so good at it and did everything to keep it hidden and didn't care who he trod on to do it.
Doping is in all sports its a cat and mouse game as to who gets away with it and I think Russia should be banned from this years olympics even if there are innocents their doping program was/is state funded and they should be punished to the max.
