Stratos S8 superstar forks for my new build

Just picked these bad boys up yesterday.
They are in amazing condition and i can't wait to use them.
They may be old but they are new to me and feel very nice , but will feel better when
i strip them down and service them.
These will be going on my Balfa BB7.
Bit gutted they did not have the original stickers on the legs , also the drop outs seem very thin
and have heard or these snapping due to overtightening so going to have to figure out a way to prevent this.
Perhaps put soem thin alloy plate in the small gap so they can't be tightened closed as people
tend to swing on these when they are onl a pinch bolt

wow :shock: those look in good condition. iv sold my stratos forks not long ago as finding spares for them is impossible! and the drop outs do crack really easy as i had to have mine welded. but all in all good forks except for the weight lol.

I've got an old pair of FR4's hanging up in the garage...seals are dead but I don't see the point in trying to get shot. I thought hey were well cool when they first came out.

They'll look brilliant on the front of that Balfa.

I'm going to do a full strip down thread for S8 owners.
Also just been told that boxxer springs fit these

the only marks on the whole fork is under were the crown's go and have took anodising away but hidden by crowns

Well i'm gonna service these and then sell them as i have just bought
some other forks for a price i could nor refuse

Upside down forks rock...my old Shivers were some of the best forks that I ever had. I never notice the flex that a lot of people went on about.

Upside down forks rock...my old Shivers were some of the best forks that I ever had. I never notice the flex that a lot of people went on about.

Just bought some Avalanche USD forks from a guy in Liverpool.
Mint condition.
Yeah i still have some shivers but need firm springs for them.

To be honest the Stratos S8 don't need a service but i would rather the new buyer have a great serviced set of forks and there are no worries then.
As the oil in them could be from 2004?
Wonder what they are worth in that nick

I have just purchased a Giant ATX one DH with a set of stratos s8 super star fork. Now I'm searching for someone to service them and replace the seals,found more RockingHorseShit so far tho can anyone help im based in the UK

I had a set of S8's on my Saracen. The action was great but they leaked constantly. I didn't keep them long.
