STOLEN PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT -UPDATED-

HHmmm excellent news. Do you think that there is a possibility though that we might see another stolen thread appear on a forum somewhere, as maybe the bike was sold on to an unsuspecting new owner who in their eyes has just had their bike stolen.

Don't get me wrong i'm not suggesting for one moment that it shouldn't have been retrieved. I certainly would have done exactly the same. Just wondering if someone out there is feeling the loss like you did not so long ago.

Part of my reasoning is that if it were the thief riding it, wouldn't it have had a poor rattle can paint job or something to disguise it's appearance in some way? Or is that just my small town mentality showing through .

One thing puzzles me though. How could the same padlock have been used, did he leave a key in the lock :?

In any event very well done for getting it back, it's such a lovely bike to have lost. I can't imagine how he must have felt just seeing it locked up there. :D

I don't think you read it right. He moved it while he drunk to another place and forgot that he moved it. That's why it still had his lock on it ;) and it was never stolen.

Jesus christ, it was left locked up in the middle of london for how long....and wasnt stripped & vandalised....I am amazed!

100%

But it has quite a few marks on the paint work from people locking their bikes up next to it :x
I think being black must have help it go unnoticed. Perhaps a Sunburst Klein wouldn't have been so lucky

Thats amazing, im sure round here it wouldve been kicked to hell and vandalised completely, i cant believe it was sat there for six months!

Your mate is one lucky lucky boy to see it again lol, i know a lad who did similar years ago, he had been off his road bike due to a broken arm for a few months, gotten so used to walking everywhere and when he first went out on his bike, he left it outside a shop then waltzed back out forgetting it completely.

Unfortunately, when he realised some four hours or so later on he returned to find it had gone, the error of leaving it unlocked for four hours unfortunately!

that ride has thief appeal...would never have left it locked unattended.

That said, good luck with it's search; sorry it happened

He's found it already! OP was in November.
It was where he had left it, locked up in another location but forgotten because he was drunk. Untouched in central London for months

That's another one not reading the thread  :p
