STOLEN PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT -UPDATED-

Really great news.

I hope the scum that took it got what they deserve too but either way must be a great relief to get it back, it's such a gorgeous machine. I really love the black with the gold script. Is this an early bolx?

Can't wait to hear the story behind it's return .

.

That is good news, and unusual. I helped track a mates bike down that was stolen in Victoria, just kept cycling around the area after work until I saw someone on it, then followed them, though that turned into a scary adventure into a dodgy estate where I got chased off as they figured out why I was there. Police liked the info I gave them and found the scumbag with the bike and returned it to my mate, all present and correct. Hopefully yours is too!

Mate's young bros Hardrock stolen from Houghton, St. Ives - I get told about it, I ask around and find a lady riding it to and from Houghton to work as a present from her son.

Bike back, bit of money as an apology for the bro and smiles all round.

That looks a ****ing nice bike to lose, glad to see you got it back.

My Zaskar can tell a similar story but it took a year for that to reappear.

My mates and I were taking one of us to the local Royal Infirmary for a broken ankle, (bouncey castle injury, long story, for another forum  )
Stopped at traffic lights waiting to turn, when out of the corner of my eye I spot a chav sitting there on my Cannondale SM2000 , (Rc30's , Syncros , U.S.E, Ringle , white porcs ) so myself and one of the lads (all 6'4" of him)
drag the wee cnut into the van along with the bike, and grab a copper when we get to the hospital, handed him and the bike over. 3 weeks later the ins company called and offered me it back for £300!! (they had already paid out)
(I never thought about being charged with kidnapping)

That bike had been stolen 3 times!!
Got it back each time, first time it cycled past me and I lynched the bugger on it, second time the chav on it took it to the shop I bought it from for a repair   thats when Cannondales were pretty rare and their was only the one dealer up here

Miss that bike now

the story of how my C16r and E3 were stolen is on a live thread about a C16r rstoration

my first mtb was a cheap claud buler replacing my dawes tourer in 91/2 - as a poor vicar couldn't afford the clockwork i wanted.rode it back from discount shop in west london on a bright summer day-it hadnt been set up properly and i had no tolls-the seatpin got looser and then sheered

stopped at a local bike store near to home lent bike up outside put my head in door and said did they have a seatpin bolt for a claud butler-and they said"for that one?"pointing to my bike being run away with into distance

so lasted a total of 2 hours ownership!

 This is how this Roberts was 'stolen' My mate (who is a member here) went out for a few drinks as a group. Had rather a lot to much. So decided not to cycle home. But used public transport. Then in the morning went to collect his beloved mtb to find it gone
Then approx six months later while walking near a certain famous sq with a sailor in the middle there was his Roberts locked to a railing  With his own lock  tries key and it fits and unlocks. He had while drunk moved the bike and then gone home.
The good news the bike was untouched as he left it. except rust was creeping in :x
Moral don't cycle and drink  He is very lucky
The mtb is home waiting to be cleaned up
