Spoks too long/sticking out after wheel building?!?

Thanks for the help guys..
I'm gonna cut my losses and order shorter spokes(265 mm), i tryed several ways and spokes always stick out.. on both wheels and using difrent assembly patterns 😪😪
I don't know how they managed to put them long spokes at the factory mind..
Are you ready to find out they are too short? :)

best I could following was this set, showing 4X pattern
270mm are long 26" spokes,

If it was 3X this would be your ERD 556mm)

but this is more reasonable, assuming 4X setup for 270mm of 543mm, especially as they're quite deep and not double wall or double eyelets.

for reference a Mavic 231 is 548mm ERD, Campag, Stheno/Atek is about 540mm ERD, Araya RM's are 547mm
I think mine is 540.
I'm gonna cut my losses and order shorter spokes now as its impossible to put 270s in them wheels, at least i cant.. they stick out about 5mm

Law of sods in it. You'll built it just differently enough and sit there cursing. 🤪
I follow up the 3x pattern,i disassembled the whells a few times and tried again and again even followed youtube videos and they always stick out about 5mm on BOTH wheels and EVERY spoke

Couple of rounds of gorilla tape and half a gallon of sealant'll sort that - and mean you can go tubeless...

Did you try 4X, I missed the picture above, but it does collaborate with my best guess of reading the picture.

4X isn't common as they often hit the spoke head. But it would take of 5mm from each spoke easily.

Proper measure your ERD if you're going to buy some more, remember to take off the screw slot height to, it's a pain when it sits in there.
For you slightly shower is better than long, since anything exposed will pole into the inner tube.

the crosses at the hub are right but it looks from the picture like you have them too close together at the rim. Its hard to see, but on 3 cross you should have a spoke every 5 holes...ie 3 spaces between each spoke on the same side / direction. It looks like you might have 3. That would explain why your spokes are too long.....but its hard to see......i might just not be seeing it correctly!

If not it must have bern 4 cross.
