Retrobike Touring.

I'm sure this modern solution is objectively superior, but that's not why we are here, is it😉
Be very careful with this one.
Depending on zip construction, the teeth can be so well lubricated that they come off the backing tape. It's certainly a no-no on drysuits; it may also be the case on other water-resistant zips.

However for that pannier zip, looks fine.

Careful choice of candle may be advisable.
Paraffin wax for the Vegan
Beeswax for the Vegetarian
Tallow for the Carnivore

3 very different compounds
Could react very differently to the fabrics.

Anyone have experience of touring with flared drop bars.

The bars on the bike I'm building for some light touring are standard drop bars, and they're nearly 35 years old so may be prudent to change them.

I'm using bar end shifters so the flare may hinder my hands shifting 🤔

My main touring bike for the last 14 to 15 years, a Surly Long Haul Trucker has run On One Midge bars which are flared drops since I built it.
Hugely comfortable and give great control whether on tar or gravel.
If you see my link to my blog you will see this bike goes everywhere on all surfaces and has done thousands of miles.
