Specialised Hard Rock GSX 1990's (beater)

Any love for this at say £50?
Paintwork isn't great but I think it's done little mileage in it's lifetime. Wheels and most parts are original. 17" frame but it has a long seat post so would probably go from just over 5ft to nearly 6!
It makes a great beater / pub bike in current setup with mudguards and a rack.
Currently living in Cardiff...

I'm just offering it on here before I put it on Gumtree etc.

I think the GSX model was early to mid 90's.

Re:

Quite a lot of love for old HardRocks here, actually. A little bit heavier than their more upmarket siblings but they compensate with comfort (and, in fact, some later HardRock framesets are about the same weight as earlier StumpJumper framesets). They're nice bikes, well worth upgrading. As you might have guessed, I already have one, so here's a free bump and good luck with the sale.

Re: Specialised Hard Rock GSX 1980's (beater)

Looks very similar to mine @94 - does it have 6-speed freewheel?

Well it's 7 speed but not sure if freewheel or cassette.
I've embarrassed myself as it is 90's not 80's but not sure if I can edit the title.

Yes, you can if you go to your original first post & click on the 'EDIT' button bottom left, then you can edit the title. ;)

Re:

By the way, what's the tubing made of on this model: cromo, butted cromo, cromo main tubes only, high tensile steel? And what about the forks - same question? I'm feeling strangely intrigued by HardRocks at the moment.

Have a look at the Spesh catalogue for 1995 here:

Re:

I'll admit to being pretty sleep deprived but, so far as I can tell, the GSX model isn't in that catalogue. GX, yes. Sport GX, yes. GSX, no.
