Asphalt tyres? As in totally slick? Or with cuts/grooves in them?
I've used both Specialised Fatboy's and Schwalbe Kojak and they are bald as a..... Err... Coot, also have a nicely round profile.

Just bought some Schwalbe City Jet's which have a few grooves in them but less of a round profile, not tried them out yet though.

Maxxis Detonators are supposed to be pretty good, but I have no experience of them.

Are these tyres going to be for winter/ summer/ dry/ wet use? For training or commuting?

I want some cut/grooves. Its mostly for dry but needs to be OK in the wet. And for commuting. And yes 26"
As quick rolling and light as possible but still ok to go over the sidewalk edge.

My missus likes shwalbe fat franks. Big fat cruizin tyres. I have taken her bike into town a few times and they're a nice plush ride but nimble enough to feel safe while playing in traffic.

I've run Spec Fatboy 1.25s on a variety of Kona's - pure slick, but fine in the wet, didn't notice on reduction in grip when moving from Spec Nimbus's - latest incarnation on my AA:

I like the michelin 1.4. With a hint of grooves would be perfect.
Im worried about the slide factor in wet. Any thoughts?

@TedC How did you solve the cable stop (dog collar) on your AA to run V´s?
Is it drilled?

I have 1.5 maxxis detonators (kevlar) which are light, fast, and have a hint of tread on the leading edges. I find them very grippy and a great tyre for commuting.
