It's pronounced "shee-dzahng".

And it's the Chinese name for Tibet.

The guy 3rd from the right rode a Xizang. He pronounced it Zih-zang.

1998, 18" (20" c-t) custom decals by Gil. And it's "Tchi-tzang", if you want to be correct, but I've called them "Zi-zangs", since I first saw an ad in MBA a million years ago.

OK, I'll kick this off :)

Pic from last year, it's got a Flite Ti saddle, Topline crankset and A-TAC/HyperLite combo now. Will make some new pics when I have my U-brake setup and I'm out riding again

You bought from me dude, already forgot? Nicely done example.

So far its:

1. Zih-zang (an Oriental looking bloke in a photo says so)
2. Shee-dzahng (the internet says so)
3. Ex-zang (it has an superfluous 'I')
4. Shee-zung (chineese (sic) blokes at Uni says so)
5. Tchi-tzang (indecisive owner says so)
6. Zi-zangs (indecisive owner says so, see point 5 for clarity of indecision)

any more, just for the sake of clarity? Maybe we should have a poll, the winner gets a free Tibet (the expensive one is just as nice but smells better)

 You may also want to include 'Sitsang' and 'Yiyang'

7. Sitsang (The Free Internet Dictionairy Says so)
8. Yiyang (How'J'say.com Says So)

I'll go for however the Chinese pronounce 'Xizang', seeing as that's what the bike is named after.

I'm still calling the area Tibet though.

My Xizang through time...

2011 - work in progress, 1992 cable hopes front and back. the rigid version now has a black flipflop stem and silver bar. Decals are needing re-done and I need to make proper mounts for the rear disc.

But do you trust the Chinese when it comes to the correct pronunciation of a word meaning Tibet, surely its more right on to call it Bod as that is the Tibetan word for Tibet?
