Show us Ya Citrus Fruit! (Orange Content)

Cheers brocklanders!
both the e3's are a joy to ride, both feel super light and are so responsive.

Re:

Just found this thread, and I must say 54 pages of orangey goodness... just fantastic. Some really quality bikes here.

Have some bad 'phone photos of my 2001 P7 (on it's 3rd respray).

This bike has its roots in the blue '92 clockwork used to ride way back when, and in the "grandfather's axe" sense it's the same bike. One very cosmetically challenged Deore thumbshifter is still in use the bars as a last remaining component I transplanted over from the clockwork to the P7 frame.

I'm not sure if anyone is still following this thread but I've owned a Orange Dynamo since '93, ridden it 20k+ miles, really love the bike and decided to reboot it this year, I'm interested in the history of Orange's road bikes and can't find much on line. Anyway hope someone is still following and can give me some info. Thank you.
Mike.

Fascinating thread by the way, some beautiful British bikes on display.

A thing of beauty. Looked a nice classic before but now, with the red/black trim rebuild, it's a stunning timeless machine – awesome. It's going to cut quite a dash out on the roads. There won't be too many Dynamos about. Orange also brought out the 'Roadie-O' in '99.

Re:

Ok.

Here's my pair...

A 1999/2000 P7.

It's not wearing the original Hope hubbed wheels as they're buckled to feck. I've also put on mechanical disc brakes for the moment as it always had the mounts.

When I get some 'spare' cash, I may well upgrade to hydraulics.

And my current project - a 94/95 P7 which I've had since about 97. Mostly XT throughout but with LX front cantis and an XTR rear mech. Weird.

Here's how it looked about 3 months ago when I decided to drag it out of the shed:

The finish was past its best, so I've been stripping it back with various grades of sandpaper when I get the time. Currently got the seat stays to finish and then need to work up the grades again to polish it.

At this point, I still had the top tube to do too. It's a much slower process than many other people seem to be able to manage as it's my first bike build.

Have to say, I'm loving this thread, I'm a huge fan of Orange bikes since my mate first got a Clockwork back in about 89 when I got my Tuff Trax.

For years, I've wanted a Roadie-O and didn't know they did the older road bike too. Every day's a school day.

Thanks for that :) it was a labour of love and it's been brilliant all summer.

They also had the Carbo-O in 2011

And the Thing (RX9) in the current line up - though this is a CX bike.
