Should I get a bell?

Never had a problem with it. It usually raises a smile and a laugh. There is no sense of agro with it and it often strilkes up a moments conversation.Still think an airhorn is the answer to the ones who ignore you

As all of my bikes are made in England so are their bells, I have four of these and swap them around whatever bikes are flavour of the week.
I find a bell gets a better response than a polite excuse me but there are still moaners.

We used to use whistles in the city as bells couldn't be heard by cars.

I always use a bell. Sometimes people have headphones in and won't hear it but I ding it quite far back so they know I'm approaching and then they don't get spooked when you ride past. Well worth it

These are great because you can make more noise than with a simple "PING" one. I guess they are heavier than those, though.
