Same Old Politics Of Hate

Though one who doesn't seek to blame others for my misfortune.

A little personal responsibility goes a long way. Labour's client state doesn't recognise it though.
Technodup, it seems that you and I sing from the same hymn sheet. ;)

I just wish more people would.

My local council is currently reducing the number of their buildings from 19 to 6 to save money. Which makes you wonder why they needed 19 in the first place, if 6 will suffice. What the press release didn't mention is that they are building at least one of those 6 from scratch for a call centre. Apparently none of the 19 are suitable...

This sort of flagrant largesse is rife throughout the public sector and needs curtailed. Councils and government have created endless non-productive public jobs, beholden to the unions, producing obedient Labour voters without due consideration to the productive in society. The ones who actually create revenues and pay the taxes, who's companies don't recognise unions, who are subject to constant change, competition, poor working conditions and poorer benefits and pension packages.

I won't get into the student thing except to say that the fees wouldn't be necessary had Labour not introduced their ridiculous 50% target. Are 50% going into degree type employment? Are they ****. 20% is more appropriate imo. Get the other muppets into training and apprenticeships instead of pointless media and communications courses.

Now is the time for Thatcher mkII. I don't think we have it.

I'm the cream that will rise to the top again.

Ever heard "Running the world" by Jarvis? I have. And would never use that phrase about myself as a result. :p

Nice of you not to blame others for your misfortune. Still, your misfortune is another mans blessing no doubt!

Such is life. I'm the cream that will rise to the top again.

Low taxes, pro business agenda, personal responsibility and minimal state intervention. That's how this country will progress. Or at least how it should.

I'm not holding my breath though.

Sometimes poo has a nasty habit of floating too.

Yes, look how well it's working out for America!

Seems the general view is one of leftish madness, which in my experience is fairly standard for discussion boards.

Which is odd because I think the population tends to the right as a rule, and believe this is shown over the past century in Parliament.

Nutters on the internet? Surely not.

Either way it's fairly futile discussing it any further, nobody will ever agree- least of all me. :)

Have I come across as spouting "leftish madness"? I have really tried not to tell anyone my personal views. If you pushed me I'd say yours are a bit simplistic, but I certainly don't disagree with all of them.

Politics is difficult, isn't it?

current position.. too much money spent by previous government..too much on benefits..this needs to be curbed.. yes as a family we are being spendthrift with everything see my thread http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=153451 any government who was left this complete f*ck up of a "negative balance" would be cutting what they spend.

To all members when you read the article ..i am just asking the question "why", we are all adults ;) ..this is just healthy discussion i have a lot of freinds living all over the U.K.

To be honest the issue/ problem with any of this government or the previous is the double standards of NHS/Education/Elderly Care..all members of the union should pay. Why should you if you live in England pay for all services and other members get it free or heavily subsidised..it just does not seem fair..if everybody paid that would be fair :)

Ernie ;)

Touche. Did I specify anyone by name?

I try to avoid getting into endless internet debate around politics, as I don't have the time nor inclination to fully explore the endless considerations on here. That and I'm sure some of my views would be pretty abhorrent to the sheeple majority. Doesn't make them wrong though.

Politics is difficult. But I don't believe it has to be.
