Same Old Politics Of Hate

the labour disease of lack of memory for the last 13 years happen

Isn't lack of memory for the years before that the reason the british electorate let the tories back in? So surely collective amnesia is a cross-party issue,

It's the Labour ethos though dbmtb - "It's always everyone else's fault"

Just out of curiosity, how many times have you listened to an interview with a tory where they say something about clearing up the mess left by the last government? That ethos is not specific to Labour.

It was/is a bloody big mess though Chris!!!

It doesn't just apply to Labour politicians though, look at people like Bob Crow and their Labour backed unions trying to send Britain back to recession, because of pay freezes etc - I had my first pay rise in 6 years this year, I have no pension and also have 3 dependant children and a wife to look after, public sector workers should compare themselves to the private sector for a reality check. If I don't go to work I don't get paid, if I dared strike I would be fired. Unions have become a mockery of their original ideals - I'm sure Bob Crow et al really care about the proles after they've checked their bank balances!!!

Look at all the column inches about pension chaos in the public sector, if Labour hadn't seen fit to invent thousands of spurious jobs and the pensions to go with them and have to bankroll them then we wouldn't be in half the shite we're in now!

For the record, I agree with some of what you're saying.

But let me ask this question. Given the circumstances of 1997, do you think the current political leaders would have acted any differently to the way New Labour did? Would they heck.

There's no difference between major political parties anymore.

For the record Ross, I agree with all of what you're saying. ;) :)

Chris is right though when he says that there's no difference between political parties anymore. And the reason for this is that the European Union, the big media organisations and multinational superbanks are the ones who really call the tune that everyone has to dance to.

By handing over power to the EU, shaping policies to keep Murdoch happy and borrowing eye-watering sums from the banks, Labour have ensured that our society is directed by forces other than a democratic parliament. Just ask the people of Ireland or Greece.

Lets have a bit of balance here - The Tories are not ideal, but I'll take them any day over the previous government, who's fiscal policies and mismanagement are to blame for our current financial situation. their lack of financial responsibility is why everybody now hates the tories because of the heavy taxation required to repay the country's crippling debts and get us back on our feet.

The Lib dems have proven weak in the the coalition, letting cameron and co ride roughshod over them with little resistance, which is a shame as they probably would have tempered the culture of looking after those who are better off.

Moan about unemployment all you like, but there are jobs out there, it's just people use it as an excuse. I've been made redundant 3 times in the last year and every time I've gotten of my arse and gotten a job within a month, one of them was a 7k pay cut, but hey, I'd rather work than sponge of the state.

My opinion is that Labour and the bulk (NOT all) of its supporters dont share my mentality, they want money for nothing and everything handed to them, they embrace the former governments culture of borrowing money so they can have the things they want but in the full knowledge that factors outside of their control will need to change in order for them to pay it back. They moan about Tories and the fact they cut benefits and raise taxes but when they wake up and look at the cold hard facts they will see there is know other way...

Tories = Scum = shut up!

Is that balanced enough for you?

al.

The problem is the Tories aren't Tory enough. Too busy appealing to every man and his dog. And their communication strategy is atrocious. Spending is rising but all we hear of is cuts, cuts, cuts.

I won't even get started on Bob Crow. The man's a laughing stock.

And before anyone accuses me of silver spoons or short memories or some other cliche insult of envy I say this as a recently made redundant Scot (and you thought we were all parasitic socialists :)). Though one who doesn't seek to blame others for my misfortune.

A little personal responsibility goes a long way. Labour's client state doesn't recognise it though.

Nice of you not to blame others for your misfortune. Still, your misfortune is another mans blessing no doubt!

Such is life. I'm the cream that will rise to the top again.

Low taxes, pro business agenda, personal responsibility and minimal state intervention. That's how this country will progress. Or at least how it should.

I'm not holding my breath though.
