Rockshox Judy rebuilding questions.

Iirc the oil seals fit all one peace lowers. And the SIDs. Bit they wont fit the early version Judys with those wipers. But those can fit standard wiper seals like shown in my wiki page.

Oh and be careful not to mix up short cartridges with long dummy legs! Or else the cartridges will be blown apart.

Do you know the proper length dummy rod assembly for a 63mm Judy XC?

It reminds me, how do you find the 28 ID seals on the Judy, I know on the Mags if I drop that much they pretty much lock up if I manage to get the seal on to it (25 from 25.4) and here it's from 28.6.

Actually have a bunch of Mag seal/rebuild kits and legs/braces/crowns, but no stanchions/internals. 28mm seals and foam rings seem slightly harder to find for me. The oil seals are pretty much impossible to find it seems, I've come across maybe one set in the whole internet.

@fluffychicken:
The seals are defined by the OD of the tube that has to slide on the inside and the ID of the seat the seal has to fit into. That's it. The stiction is always higher on new seals. At least for those oil and air seals that I use with my Mag21s. The wipers that were used on the early Judys are different. Those have less stiction because they dont have an actual sealing surface.

About the Mags: What do you mean by "lock up" ? I know a syptom that they compress but wont uncompress completely or not at all. Are you talking about that? I might have a solution for that.

@wesmamyke: Not out of my head. I'd have to measure.
You are right about the cartridge oil seals. They are non standard, it seems. And the nearly fitting standard seal will work, but its not satisfying. More stiction and a pain to assemble...

As far as I'm aware the dummy leg is actually the same part as used in the damper without the body. If you have a trashed damper, you can use the internals from it.

Its definitely not the same part. May well be one could bodge up something that is working, but I'm not sure.

Pictures...

The last pic of the Judy XC parts is the project really, enough good condition and NOS parts to built one really clean fork. Probably try to build one more beater from the parts and get rid of the rest.
