Trying to overhaul a pair of rockshox Indy sl forks... top caps came off easy, springs came with them, but the rest seems fairly well stuck inside. Any tips? Have tried grabbing the plastic with pliers but they don’t really want to go anywhere...and I’m a bit nervous about chewing up the soft plastic if I try too hard...
Do you have any pictures of the maintenance you did on your fork? I'm working on mine and having similar problems. The elastomer is also stuck and I'm finding discrepancies between the user manual and my fork. I'd like to see what yours looks like. Thanks.

I was wrong. It's not de elastomer that is stuck. In fact, eveything but coil is stuck. Elastomer, Spring Rate Adjuster and everything else. The part I was trying to take off was the spring rate adjuster. I thing I already damaged it... sadly... and it is still stuck! Any ideas? 1743455932494.webp

The partly molten elastomer is your problem. It gued everything together making it stuck together in the tubes. Just PM me for further help. There is an easy way to get it apart. Cheers

I understand you, it has happened to me repeatedly, it is common with these forks, as I have already mentioned in some forum (I don't know if here or somewhere else), what I use is a long, flat metal piece, I heat it with the lighter and insert it through the sides, between the bar and the spring/elastomer connecting piece.

Don't worry if you damage the piece or it doesn't stay round, you'll still need to file it down so it can fit back in.

I would also like to tell you that apart from the elastomer, if you need any of those parts, I could also provide them to you. I am leaving you some photos so that you can get an idea of how I carry out this task.

I do it like this inside the bar and with that hot tool

heating the tip with a lighter, it is introduced, little by little you melt the piece, until you can remove it, then you have to file it so that it is round again and it wears down so that it fits well through the gap in the bars,
