My son & I have gone on a mini-tour. We battled the hail and rain and arrived in the Chilterns safely.

We took the crappy tandem, it doesn’t handle too badly loaded.

I have always fancied doing something like this.

The first ever copy of MBUK I read had an article written by a guy who lost his job as a teacher and (I think) he got divorced too, so he hopped on his bike and rode from Spalding to Tibet. I thought to myself, I'll do that one day too.

Off to the new forest for a few days in a couple of weeks, looks like there is ample opportunity for some off-road stuff amongst the cycle routes. Considering just taking the bivvy/tarp but the tent is a lot more pleasant to sleep in unless the conditions are perfect!
