Retrobike Touring.

Re: Retro MTB Touring.

Been test loading the bike. I think I've overdone it.

Re: Retro MTB Touring.

Solo camping should be in the 15kg plus or minus a couple of kg range for luggage. If you are over 20kg then you have too much stuff...

Re: Retro MTB Touring.

Wherever the road takes me................. (Narrows eyes, Looks into distance)

Actually, down to slimbridge, then across Severn bridge to tintern, then up to near Abergavenny, then to Brecon where mrs HM has said she will pick me up. Or will she?

Bike is heavy. Off out for a little spin later to see how it handles. Got half a pannier spare for rock and souvenirs. (of 4).

Re:

That looks like more than I'd need for 4 days.

In fact, that looks like more than I'd need for a fortnight. :D

Re: Retro MTB Touring.

The thing is I'd probably take the same for four or fourteen days. Most of the bulk is the same regardless. I don't travel light or without a bit of room. Included are Tabasco, coffee bags and super noodles for emergencies. Not forgetting mint cake and nine bars. And a huge down bag that takes up a whole rear pannier. And a down jacket. I could go on.

Re:

Oh and I had my mot today at the surgery. 131 over 60. 50bpm. So good to go.
Need to lose a bit of weight though.
Sites booked. Wish me luck. Weather could be interesting.
