I have an inkling for a full suspension retro ride.

RTS springs to mind and I did enjoy the Team/RTS1 I owned for a while.

What can others suggest that worked?

Preferences go to those that use a conventional shock set up i.e. not like the RTS with its long push rod set up.

I like teh idea of an AMP but fear I am too heavy

Cheers,

+1 on the RTS Team. I had one when they were new and remember liking it.

Amps are functionally great if not a little under built and flexy.

Mantis Pro Floaters if you can find one.

And early Santa Cruz and Turners, lurking at the retro threshold.

+1 for Proflex

stiff
light
well designed
proven race winning pedigree
cool looks

another +1 for Proflex all the above and they're pretty cheap. Shocks can be hard to come by though.

Can't go wrong with a sannie IMHO.

Suspension that works, bulletproof design and discs. Perfect.
