I've recently come into posession of a pair of Spin composite MTB wheels which are prety badly out of round ('dips' between the 'spokes') & I was wondering if anyone has had a go at rectifying this issue??? I did a search & came up with this thread that just deals with dodgey Spin bearings.
I have 2 ideas at present:
1) Put a car jack in between the hub & 'recessed' area in between spokes & force outward to try to push the dip out
2) Remove the rivots from the inside of the rim, remove it, beat it 'round' again & re-rivot into place
Both plans obviously present the risk of buggering the wheel(s) & rendering them useless, even for display purposes. Comments?
