Ay up retrobikers...

Anyone have some top tips for the above? My toe straps are in good nick, buckle and rivets are sound but they are well used, so a touch oily etc... I'm not sure how to clean them and what to use.

Cheers,

Karl

The technique we used as youngsters was to paint them red with International Tractor paint. We had seen some that colour on some race bike. It stiffens tham up nicely if they have gone floppy.
For some reason long forgotten, part of the process was holding the buckle end with a nail in to Dads work bench and another nail through the very end to hold them tight. It ws importnat not to get paint on the inside as that looked tatty!
