My current winter Road bike is this late 70's early 80's R.E.W Reynolds far from immaculate but loved and used no matter what the conditions

Thanks Bagpuss. Jason Rourke painted it for me in Banesto blue with old English white panels a couple of months ago.

Winter? It has no mudguards?

I never use them myself.
Not a club rider then? Or an unpopular one if so.
Our club has a big thing about full guards and an afterfit rear flap to keep your buddies' face clean.

I was a club rider for many years. Rarely did anyone have full mudguards as you described. Most had them without the flap , which do nothing to protect the rider behind.
A cracking selection so far! Well done to those who have built them up!
