Nah... I'm not a purist, I won't shoot you. Retromod would be cool. Does Chorus come in silver or are you going for black?

I'm building my year '96 Mercian time trial this spring (needs respray) but I'm using Ultegra 6500 from 1997-2004 as I have the group lying around.
Low pro TT? I've got a 653 Pro Lugless (on here). Always wanted a low pro mercian to go with it
 
Reading the statement in the Custom Information part of the Raleigh Special Products Catalogue...

"We also carry some specialist tubesets, such as the Dyna-Flite, developed specifically for Time Trial Specials"

We can now see the full Dyna-Flite frame evolution with your 853 Dyna-Flite Time Trial Special the final piece of the puzzle..👌

The first prototype in 753 fillet brazed with fully aero seat tube taking a modified seat post..

Next version in 753 fillet brazed with oval to round seat tube and taking a stock seat post..

Then a version in 753 lugged construction with the three main tubes being oval and then round into lugs, this would have been a quicker and cheaper method for manufacturing which paved the way to mass production Cadet and Record aero frames..

And finally to your 853 tig welded Dyna-Flite Time Trial Special..

On a related note, I’d really like to know where Raleigh wanted to go with the Dyna-Tech branding. Mostly, but not exclusively applied to bonded frames and used in preference to the Raleigh name on the frame decals.

Yeah, I've seen a few SB lugged frames with Dyna-Tech on the down tube. When the SB frame number reached SB9999 it was replaced with an SC prefix.. starting SC1000 for the special builds...I'm guessing that SC stood for Special Custom..?

My titanium from 95 is also Dyna-Tech branded. Not sure where they were going with it either, but it would have been at a time when sales were dropping off
