hi, my latest project just arrived today Raleigh rsp200 hardtail, £70 won it, bit of a punt really got a soft spot for the nicer raleighs and this one sounded ok. d.b 7005 frame and mostly deore throughout with a pogo stick manitou magnum fork. paint is in fair condition its one of those bikes thats not really been used but picked up a few scratches and alot of grime from storage. not as light as i though it would be but a few choice parts should sort this, geometry looks spot on though.
will post more pics when ive changed a few things.
any suggestions? any love for the raleigh? :)

Re:

Yes plenty of love for theses Raleighs. i have a similarly virtually unused 250 in my garage. (A bit to big for me) I used to have a 150 which I had modded with better parts until it was nicked.
Great frames. Very under rated, even though the mags rated them when they reviewed.
Enjoy.

Good buy. I thought about getting it myself as the seller is pretty much just around the corner from me iirc. Decided I didn't really have a use for it though. Enjoy.

cheers, to be honest i wasn't looking for one of these i just happened upon it whist looking for a ravine or similar. anyway got it now, shes in the workshop in bits and i will be rebuilding in a slightly different guise (paint stripper at the ready) :). its a really well built bike its just rsp didnt catch on with riders at the time, shame.

Paint stripper......pity. Not sure bare alloy will look that great. I always liked the RSP colour schemes, but appreciate they're not to every ones taste.

+1 i like the colours too and it would be a shame to strip it off. I would have the headtube badge though if you do decide on a different route :D

cheers for the comments guys, i do like the paint although it does look a bit 'standard raleigh' but ive just got an itch ive got to scratch  i have been meaning to acquire a nice alloy frame to strip and polish for a while and this is the perfect candidate. i do have a 1995 giant atx in polished finish which looks cool but is a bit big for me.
anyway no going back now will see how it turns out and and will post pics when done.
i love the smell of autosol in the morning :)
