Mine dates from the mid 90's and has that grey finish, full ti welded model,i think later models were all pretty much natural ti finish,I spotted some on here that look stripped and would like to get some tips on products needed, when stripped they don't appear to look so nice around the lugs, can they be polished up?
Thankyou

They were bead blasted or polished in the early days, then moved to painted.

The painted frames are "raw" ti underneath AFAIK.
Don't think you could buy an unfinished frame without paint.

Trying to get from bead blasted to polished might take a while without proper commercial equipment.

Re:

I`d say a bit of compound and a buff would get a good finish after bead blasting.I wonder if a clear coat gloss powder coat finish work also?Anyone try it?

Have you got a picture of the frame? is it painted or the just the matt finish?

Ti is *really* hard to polish.

The points where the cables rubbed on my bead blasted ti frame are barely even marked. That's 5 or 6 years of quite vigorous use.

It is the light grey matt finish.thanks stx torus.ti model

If its the matt finish it just needs polishing, nothing to strip, compound and a lot of elbow grease.

Is it same as mine below?
