I just ordered some myself, they actually come up lighter than quoted, and really look the part on a bike from this era.

Mavic Open 4 CD rims have been replaced by Open Pro - you can by some Open Pro and swap the decals for some Open 4 CD ones - they're close enough.

Shimano 600 Ultegra stuff is easy to find - not sure about the Vetta saddle - and the tyres are impossible.

I dragged out the original wheels (and a couple of spares) to make sure I have the right hubs and to check over, clean & polish them up.
I have the right hubs it turns out, which will save a few quid, but I remember trashing a rim on a pothole a few years back and getting it replaced at short notice by AW Cycles in Caversham (I didn't have the skills at the time). They replaced the rim with an Open Pro, but in silver, which doesn't match the manufacturers original spec (black centre strip) and other wheel!
I have a perfectly compatible wheel rim on a spare I had for the same bike, but with an Ultegra hub.....It looks like I have to swap them over!!!
It's never easy, is it?
I love the idea of a decal swap and will look into that, cheers

The touch up and polish up option hasn't been too successful, so it's now off to Plan B (A complete paint job which I've never done before)

1. Remove Paint from frame and forks using wet n dry. Partial success, really hard work and RSI of the elbow!

2. Use Nitromors to get the paint off (See attached pictures). Much easier results and I've also concocted a brilliant way of hanging the frame/forks outside the garage in a great working position using a paint roller extension and my Unior bike work stand. It will come into it's own when I start the painting process.

3. Decide whether to try and get a close paint match to the original or go for a complete new colour scheme???

For the discerning members of this forum... I don't read the Daily Mail, I scrounged it off a neighbour to mop up the drips!!!
