Raleigh Dyna-Tech 625 Ti

Dirt Disciple
Have just purchased a Raleigh Dyna-tech 625 Ti, rides very well and is in very good condition. I intend doing some upgrading to the gearing, particularly the rear set which is Campy Mirage.

Does anyone have any information on these bikes, I've found a 1993 Special Products brochure and my bike is in there.

Took the bike out for a 10 mile spin today, an interesting trip. It rides well and is certainly smooth however it does not have the urge to get on that my Rossin has.
I think it is going to make a great long distance runner.

The gearing works well although it is a bit of a mixture, rear derailleur is Campy Mirage 8 speed yet it has Chorus carbon levers. Would it be worth changing the Mirage for Chorus?

Certainly would! Mirage is low end and not on par with the Chorus stuff at all. Could do with a different saddle and seatpost combo. Keep it all nice and original and look at it as an investment.

Regarding the ride, sometimes it's just nice to have something that soaks up the bumps and does not demand that you give it your all on every ride!

If you decide to ever sell it I'll have first dibs on that please :)

I agree about the saddle, the seat post is the original Dyna-Tech, it is marked as such. I found a brochure on line, the original gearing and brakes were all Suntour.
I assume the Chorus kit is still out there on ebay and the like?

Yup have the same post on the Dyna Tech I have but like yours its a bit tatty, ideally you should fit a Campagnolo one to match the rest. You can still get the Campagnolo mechs on eBay or on here. Should be between £30 - £60 depending on condition. Difficult era to get right though; it won't have Chorus written on it....

Thanks for your info. I noticed that mine has no Raleigh badge on the front stem just a little rectangular sticker that says 'Dynatech' I am assuming the original badge has been lost.

Yes you should have a Raleigh headbadge.

This is the correct rear mech for your era of Chorus: http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... 1&Enum=108
