I have been riding single speed for about a year and a half (with an old Raleigh winner has pipe special), and I have to say I preferred 32c.

More comfort, and you can lean the bike over to a heroic angle, at least if feels that way. But I also found it to be a little faster, though acceleration from a standing start requires slightly more effort, but while rolling it's the same.

That being said, it's down to what the individual likes.

Nice and comfy.

My rear end definitely thanks me for it on that slightly too hard seat (though I hope that will soften up a little over time or I stop feeling feelings!)

The Corsa will be much better than your old Winner. 28mm for me is the sweet spot for speed and comfort.

Your right, for years I was blind to quality steel built frames. I was of the stubborn mindset that steel is steel, and therefore heavy regardless of how fancy it is.

Boy was I wrong!
