Raleigh Activator I / II appreciation thread

Is the activator the bike equivalent of the Mother-in-Law? In that even if you have quite a nice one the expected attitude is one of derision a la Dawson and Tarbuck?

This comes from the man who bought a new Raleigh Magnum back in the day so I have nothing to be proud of. :facepalm:
