Proflex Elastomers

Re:

We could really do with determining which bike we are talking about. I'm no expert on Proflexes but I think that the bikes prior to about 1995 had simple undamped elastomer rear shocks.
Later versions had coil spring shocks which must have been damped.

Orange71 would be a good person to consult on this as believe he is or was involved in a Proflex and K2 forum: --> http://www.idriders.com/proflex

There's a big spring chart here: --> http://idriders.com/proflex/resources/9 ... _chart.pdf

Re:

It's a sure it's a 1995 Peperami.

Which are are just a dual MCU setup.

We know the diameter (45mm) and approx length. But no idea if Shore ratings and he's a lightweght so 90shore is going to be to hard (no to bothered with MCU as standard non-foam will do.

Of to look at that list to see if it gives any hints.

Re:

Older Proflex had the MCU elastomers.
Then came the ODS units
Later came the Noleen shocks
And later still were the K2 Smart shocks.

I can remember seeing a thread somewhere in which the guy had bought a long length of elastomer material from a supplier (or had it made?) and then cut it to the right length and drilled a suitable centre bore. As I recall he'd got stacks of the stuff left over...

Unfortunately I can't remember where I saw that particular thread, I'll have a look though...

I have a ProFlex 753 and used 3 of the rubber portion from a 1.5" test plug like these:http://www.doitbest.com/Drain+fittings- ... 408611.dib

Cost me less than $10.

I also bought a set of elastomers from suspensionforkparts on ebay for a Quadra 21 fork and am happy with them.
