Please advice: XTR M900 (BB-UN90/91) spindle length on Merlin Mountain

Hi,

Any Merliner out there with Shimano XTR M900 setup?

The CS-M900 crankset is normally paired with a BB-UN90/91 bottom bracket with 107mm spindle length (for a 68mm shell) to get the recommended 47.5mm chainline. But because of the 34.9mm oversize seat tube on the Merlin Mountain, will the FD-M900 front derailleur be able to go to the grannie gear or will it hit the seat tube first, requiring the longer 113mm (or was it 112.5mm?) spindle as a solution?

I my Hei Hei, I have always used 107mm BB. I never had any issues at all with the front der reaching the smallest ring. As I remember there was travel left over. Can't remember the seat tube diameter, but you only lose half the diameter difference, so I am pretty sure you will be ok.
