I have used one, albeit briefly, and I spent ages looking for opinions about them online, but ultimately I just didn’t like it. The reality is this thing won’t have a hard life, I’m not ‘Gnarr’, and if I ever get to the point that I think not having one is spoiling my enjoyment or hindering my skills* then I can always reconsider and get an AXS dropper!




*skills = non-existent

I think your presumption is correct. There was a handful of lucky pipedreams repainted in Scotland to the standard you speak of, certainly. See how yours matches up with another you find on the trails

How come you’ve gone XX1 cassette and GX everything else? Seems a weird combo.

GX mech I understand as they are vunerable but surely the cassette money would be better spent on lighter/nicer cranks

Cranks are nice and light being carbon, chain and cassette were for aesthetics, doesn’t seem weird to me

Well, that was an expensive mistake, but the correct size headset arrived today.

If only I’d tried the fork race before fitting the cups I would have realised my error and been able to return it… c’est la vie

Anyway, it’s all here now, only awaiting the tyre sealant and I’ll be good to go!
