Another documentary was related to new young talent, and how it conflicts with home life and a well programmed national rigid academic agenda.

The financial burden and potential sacrifices and decision making was quite heart breaking at times. A former gold medalist herself decided to engage and devise an interesting set-up with EDF (energy supplier). In a way it was not even about overtly direct sponsorship, but more about future ambassadors for EDF. It was about EDF securing a minimum income and also providing support if exams and studies had to be postponed and paid for later. The French state kind of had this sorted for the most elite and most potential, but in a boarding house style arrangement and barely sufficient for all athletes and disciplines.

We have Discovery + (Eurosport)

Go to the left hand menu and select PARIS 2024

Then go to the top menu and select ALL SPORTS(i think that is what it is called - it is whatever is on the far right

Then you will see a screen full of pictograms so find the cycling pictogram and click on it

Then, for example if the womens road race is on, you will see two versions of the same coverage. They often have different start and finish times. One of these will be the MULTI AUDIO option and that is the one you want if you don't want adverts. You may have to go over to the bottom right of the picture where you can press a kind of settings icon and there you can select english. Do this if all you here is background noise of people cheering/helicopter/motorbikes etc

Another thing to watch out for is you may not be able to see the multi audio option until the coverage has actually started. There is a glitch in the menus where multi audio takes time to appear. Sometimes both options will not be there, to choose from, in a short time frame around when the coverage goes live.

The former only does pommel because of an eyesight problem and they wake him up, he takes his glasses off like some kind of Clark Kent, and earns the yanks a medal. Love it
