Pake C'Mute tourer with retro bits

This has become my commuter, year around. It's secret mission, however, is as a full touring bike for that round the world ride that ... Never mind.

It's a 2009 or 2010 Pake C'Mute frame, basically a verison of the Soma Double Cross, with a nice Tange Prestige fork. I got it in 2012, but it sat around for a few years as I gathered bits for it. I eventually set it up with mid 90s XT and XTR components and a RaceFace I Beam triple crank, but it has been continually changing.

Shifting is currently accomplished via a 6 speed XT thumbshifter in friction mode.

I get a chuckle out of the unholy combination of an XTR derailleur and kickstand on the same bike.

Oh, I like that. It has the purposeful look of a tourer. As you say, such things evolve continuously with little changes.

Every time I think it's done, it's not. The front rack is a Pletscher, which works well around town. I am thinking about switching it out for a rack that can take panniers...

Great looking bike, looks like a large frame.
