Pace...where's it all going?

I dont like 29er looks full stop . never tried one so cant comment on how they ride .

as a small brand Pace needs to find a niche market otherwise they would disappear . I doubt very much they have same marketing budgets as Specialized , Giant , Trek etc...

if it was a 26 wheel I would like it .

I really can not see why anybody would want to ride anything that aint steel unless its a full sus, even if its just for comfort, i can really see why Ti has taken off, and Pace have done right to go steel, i have a Ragley bluepig ( steel ) and its the best bike i have and i do have alot of money in bikes at the mo, i had a horrid Pace RC200 awefull to ride awefull geomatry, and rock solid stiff as a house frame, truly the worst bike i have ever owned and ridden, well done Pace for finding your feet even if its 20 years too late

Whats wrong with you lot ? Pace like other manufacturers have to move with the times to survive , and if that means building fashion accesories so be it . If it keeps bread on the table and people in jobs and the bikes ride great , who bloody well cares ?????? :roll:

Because it doesn't "fit" with Pace from twenty years ago is no reason to slag off a perfectly good sickle . I personally don't like alloy frames and Pace in particular are very unforgiving and stiff . But i WOULD NEVER SLAG THEM OFF just because they weren't my cup of tea , because at the end of the day those frames where keeping people in a job and at that time that meant British workers in a British factory .

And as for fashion , have not the bigger wheelers been around as long as 26ers?

I think it's great that the likes of Pace , Saracen and who ever else is making a come back , all we need now is to get the frames manufactuered here in this country again "Made in Britain" is nothing to be ashamed of Mr Carter !
Oh and while i'm on one , start making forks again will you ? RC36 Pro Class 2 is the best fork i've owned period !

And while i'm on one about being on one :shock: I think Brant Richards deserves a massive slap on the back as he seems to be the guy that has made steel hardtails "trendy" again and also made affordable parts and accesories .

Oh and I personally think 29ers a brilliant 'cos with the bigger wheels you don't need suspenders , which means less complication

LOL my comment was'nt meant to be harsh just what i think, and there are plenty of cars out on the road that i like and hate but just because i dont like them there is a market for crap and a market for good, just like bikes, i suppose they are just diversifying like alot of other comapnies now adays, going away from what they used to do do get extra cash, at the end of the day you have to do what you have to do, and if there is a market for it then let them make it.
I wonder if Pace was to make an exact replica of the RC100 would it sell????
I dont think it would, well not in numbers anyway.

P.S i see Brant Richards most days cycling past my house, he now works for Ragley, and i must say what a fantastic job he has done, you are right steel hardtails are the dogs bo****ks now, and like you say mega trendy i love mine.
