On One Inbred - Good as an XC / Everyday rigid?

Ah the good old days of Brant and then a swing of the the Breeze family. I remember that.

Brant's selling jeans and socks n stuff now,.seems.quite happy.

so from all that, what you take from it was that I was once a virile young retrobiker??

Hmmmm

no one said virile. :p
although someone did say in that thread that you couldn't get it up. or was it couldn't get up it? I forget. :)

happy days, remember folks, opinions are like areseholes, we all have one and no one likes the taste of yours. :)

I had the later 29er DN6 frame, ran it rigid and it was a great bike. kept up with many other bikes around the local mellow singletrack, and was a great XCer too. Used mainly for commuting and gravel riding. Wish i never sold it to be honest. Now i have the latest carbon whippet, and is very similar in geometry, as all their other hardtail offerings are too modern geometry for me.

I've had an Inbred, a 456 and a C456 and I never once felt like I was missing anything against other brands with different stickers on the downtube.

Oh dear, oh dear oh dear <hides face in hands>

Not my finest hour but it was 12 years ago when I was young and restless

Lol, had forgotten all about that debate! We loved a dust up back then, didn't we?😄

Interesting to read it back and note that Fat Chance did indeed rise from the ashes with Chris in charge and no one had a fit!!

As for the Inbred, well my pal Beavis, who mentions his in the 2010 thread still has it. It's been single speed, hub geared, suspended, 2x10, 1x10 and is currently back to fully rigid so they are certainly versatile and he obviously enjoys the ride.

My other pal, Giant One however didn't keep the Ragley Blue Pig long as the QC was terrible and the seat tube the wrong diameter. He had to wait a year for a replacement and when that arrived it had an oval head tube so he binned it off and got a refund. Glad to see their modern stuff is better, my Trig is ace!
