Old rusty Somec frame repaint

The frame was sprayed in a homemade booth by my son. He is not as clumsy as his father. All rust was removed first and then 2K epoxy primer was applied. The finish is automotive grade custom mixed paint. Pearl white over candy apple red. Then automotive clear coat.

Nice frame, looks like my size as well. These make great all rounders, I have a Martini-painted example.

You got that right. Wet sanding between layers, polishing compound on the clear. Oh, no, sanded through The white. Strip it down and start again. Finally the third attempt was good enough. The reduces got old. What you see in the photos is the first attempt, which was sanded down with 1500 wet dry and another attempt shot over it. It’s pretty perfect and I probably couldn’t have gotten it better. The second attempt was great until the decals. We didn’t get the finish absolutely perfectly flat and the decals lifted on some of the edges. Third time a charm. The plan is for campy everything, except for the Look pedals that I already have. Not sure about the seat, probably Brooks B 17.
