it looks like it has barends....and risers and flexstem?
Don't think it's a flexistem, looks just to be one of those adjustable jobbies.

Anyway, enough of the sins of the rack, the saddle, the risers and bar ends, chainset, boingy forks... apart from all of that, what have the Romans done for us... sorry, lost my place... the biggest sin is the V brakes when it should most clearly be running cantis.

It could be worse. He could have put discs, modern wheels, tyres and a big fork on it.
That would be terrible

ooooh cheap steel triple clamp ship anchor forks...them would look cool...oooh and a disc on the back wheel

I reckon I've walked past every bike rack in every town I've been in since joining Retrobike thinking at the back of my mind that one day there will be just one rack with an old aqua fade Yo in it begging for a restoration.....

...and you've found it. Now I can stop.

:D

Well I lurked outside the bikesheds for 1/2 an hour today but no show so far :(

 Laughing at some of the comments about fitting modern kit. You will love my '98 Explosif; currently with modern XT and Fox F80 forks. Am even going to fit a disk tab to the rear next year.........

Erm - maybe the guy/gal just likes the bike as it is Confused

Its used well, the frame is in good nick, its not a garage queen. So what's the fuss - leave it be. Suppose the alternative is to Garage Queen it, but why? Its a fat rider Confused

+1 , love it . Probably sees more use than most

Hahaha, you thought about parking a nice £50 bike next to it, wait till the person turns up, sweet talk them into a swap? Nice shiny bike for their 'heap' aka 'yours will get nicked where you live so you just want a scruffy one'.

Might you offer us a clue where this bike shed is
